God is said to have givem humans freedom. Yet in the story of Genesis God is punishing father figure. Why have humans portrayed him like this? God’s Hazard tells the story of Adam, a contemporary writer who imagines God behaving as a good father should and writes an account of this, as well as of his relationship with his own daughter, Sophie. The scene moves from London to New York, Israel and Iran. And might not God as well as Adam have a wife to take up the cause if things go wrong?
