Susie has been a teacher, a tour-guide, a typist, a workshop facilitator, a PA and a painter. She formerly wrote and directed TV programmes for children at the BBC and Channel 4, for which she won a BAFTA Award. Susie lives in Bristol.
School for Nobodies is her debut middle-grade novel and is published by Pushkin Children’s Books; it came out on July 2nd, 2020. It was followed by another stand-alone middle-grade novel, The Three Impossibles, in June 2021, and The Dangerous Life of Ophelia Bottom in August 2023. She’s currently working on a new middle grade magical adventure, that will be published in 2025.
Shoo!, Susie’s first picture book, was out on September 30th 2021, published by Pushkin.
Spotlight Sam, for reluctant readers and part of the Readerful Rise series, was published by Oxford University Press in 2024.
