Matt Beighton was born and raised in the East Midlands in the heady days of the 1980s. He tries to escape whenever he can to see what’s going on in the rest of the world. After spending time building websites for a living, he found himself washing ashore in the frenetic world of primary school teaching. This gave him an excuse to return to all of those children’s books that adults feel bad about reading but secretly love. If he could pass on one message to all of the adults out there, it would be to read more children’s fiction. Matt now spends his days writing, reading content for the Literacy Shed education site and visiting schools to inspire the next generation of writers. He is working on a middle grade spooky series.
