Marina Gibson is a truly passionate angler and writer who was lucky enough to spend much of her childhood chasing salmon, trout and sea trout. Following in the footsteps of her talented mother Joanna Gibson, herself a devoted fly fisher, Marina has dedicated a significant part of her life to the pursuit of every type of fish at every available opportunity wherever in the world that may be.
With a growing Instagram following along with several TV appearances to her name, Marina is an ambassador for Orvis UK, Atlantic Salmon Trust, Angling Trust, YETI, and Fishing For Schools. In June 2019 Marina launched The Northern Fishing School at Swinton Estate in North Yorkshire where her and her team teach all ages and abilities the art and technique of fly fishing and connect as many people as possible to the great outdoors. Marina is also a co-founder of the Cancer and Pisces Trust charity, which aims to improve the lives of cancer sufferers through the therapeutic pastime of angling, fostering connections with nature and community.
Marina has appeared on Countryfile with Anita Rani, Love Your Weekend with Alan Titchmarsh, and Amazing Hotels with Giles Coren and Monica Galetti. She was featured on Gone Fishing with Mortimer and Whitehouse, ITV’s This Morning, BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour, and BBC Radio 2 with Jeremy Vine.
