Eibhlís Carcione is the author of the spooky middle grade books, Welcome to Dead Town Raven McKay (2023), Black Gables (2024), and The Midnight House (2025). Welcome to Dead Town Raven McKay was a Sunday Times Best Book for Summer, a Book Trust Book of the Day and a Northern Ireland Book Trust Book of the Month. Black Gables was nominated for the 2026 Carnegie Medal and chosen as a Sunday Times Best Book for Halloween. She also writes poems in Irish and English and was the recipient of an Arts Council of Ireland Literature Bursary. Her three poetry collections in Irish, Tonn Chlíodhna (2015), Eala Oíche (2019), and Bean Róin (2023) are published by Coiscéim. She has won numerous awards for her poetry including Duais Fhoras na Gaeilge (Listowel Writer’s Week), Comórtas Filíochta Fhéile Raifteirí and Comórtas Filíochta, Cultúrlann McAdam Ó Fiaich, Belfast. She loves bookstores and is always on the lookout for ghost stories and dark fairytales. She lives in Cork, Ireland, with her husband, daughter, and two faithful canine companions.
