Carrie Maestas

Author

Carrie Maestas has loved stories and creative writing from a young age and she studied music composition in San Diego before returning to Hertfordshire and forging a career in human resources and marketing at director level in the travel and leisure/fitness industries, while continuing with song writing and music composing on the side.

Once her two daughters had grown up, she enjoyed a voluntary four-year stint as editor of a local environmental magazine, which rekindled her passion for writing. She decided that retirement was not an option if there was a chance of becoming a novelist. With her first novel, Carrie secured a place on Curtis Brown Creative’s novel writing course in London and was longlisted for the BPA First Novel Award. She has since completed a second novel, which was shortlisted for the Lucy Cavendish College Fiction prize, and is now working towards publication.
