Annette Colgan was born in Preston, Lancashire. She left for the bright lights aged eighteen and attended the New College of Speech and Drama in North London.
She has had a wide variety of jobs including wardrobe assistant for a ballet company, actor and writer for a theatre in education company in Cardiff, support worker for adults with learning difficulties and outreach assistant for a mental health charity.
She returned to theatre in education to work with the Education Outreach Programme at the Houses of Parliament co-writing a play charting the struggle for the vote called ‘Destination Democracy!’ It toured primary schools in the Eastern Region between 2013 and 2016.
She has studied creative writing at the University of East Anglia where she also works with their Medical School as a role player.
When not working she enjoys walking in the Norfolk countryside where she lives with her husband and Maine Coon cat called Percy.
