Peter Wollweber

Peter graduated from the University of St Andrews in 2021 with an MA in History, where he studied how early medieval societies invented stories and myths to explain artefacts from the past. These days he’s more likely to be found in a field or by the river Thames, where he’s been a licenced mudlark for over a decade, and was lucky enough several years ago to donate an item to the British Museum’s permanent collection. He is fascinated by what found objects can tell us about the people who made, used and lost them, from a Palaeolithic handaxe to a Soviet rouble from the 1960s.
He is currently working on his first book.
