Kain Stockton is a London-based fiction writer, artist, and poet from Teesside. His obsession with writing started in early childhood when he asked for a baby brother but received a typewriter instead.
He graduated with a BA in Filmmaking from Kingston School of Art, then pivoted to study Astronomy and Planetary Science.
His (self-imposed) reading list, and lifelong love of sci-fi, sparked the idea for his first manuscript, which he entered into the fiercely competitive Penguin Random House WriteNow programme. He was awarded mentorship in 2025.
Kain is neurodivergent, and considers this to be the driving force of his artistry.
His current typewriter of choice is an Olivetti Lettera 32.
