Finn Beales

Finn Beales

Finn Beales is a photographer, director and writer hailing from the border country between England and Wales. Attracted by his cinematic style and the narrative themes woven throughout his work, Finn shoots travel, documentary and commercial commissions for leading brands and publications around the world.

Outside the commercial world, Finn is a talented fine art photographer whose work draws inspiration from nature and plays with nostalgic themes. Finn’s fascination with the passing of time and the stories of those who came before us has been a driving force in this area of his career. His work is characterised by its timeless quality and ability to capture bygone sentiments in a contemporary context.

During the lockdown, Finn wrote a critically acclaimed book ‘The Storytelling Photography Workshop’, a title that has been translated into 17 foreign editions and helped thousands of aspiring photographers kick-start their careers. His second book, “Let’sĀ Get Lost”, a compendium of some of the world’s most remote locations was shortlisted for the Edward Stanford Travel Photography Book of the Year.

Finn travels for much of the year, but his roots lie on a farm in the Black Mountains with his wife, children and very many animals.
