Amjad Hajyassin is a Palestinian writer based in Brooklyn, New York. He recently completed his MFA in Creative Writing with distinction from Kingston University in London. He has been published in Mizna and Riwayya, both Arab-American literature magazines. As a satirist, his work deals with the Arab- and Palestinian-American culture in clever, witty ways, as stated by his dissertation supervisor, Hanif Kureishi. His novel, The Insignificant Life of Benny Adam, is his first full-length novel and deals with mortality, family dysfunction, and Islam through the eyes of a Palestinian man in his 30s.
