Alexander Berry

Alexander Berry is a Yorkshire-born, London-based lawyer and writer with a fixation on humanity’s sci-fi future.

After studying jurisprudence at the University of Oxford, Alexander started his legal career at Slaughter and May, widely regarded as one of the world’s most prestigious law firms. Specialising in technology law, he went on to become a Senior Lawyer at the British Broadcasting Corporation, before going on to join the UK’s Advanced Research and Invention Agency, where he is Head of Legal. In his day-to-day, he supports scientists and engineers to pursue research objectives that are too speculative, too hard, or too interdisciplinary to pursue elsewhere.

His first book, MURDER ON THE MOON: BREAKING THE LAWS OF THE FINAL FRONTIER will be published by Penguin Press. The work is an exploration of the legal systems of our space-faring future, mapping the moral and legal quandaries ahead as humanity begins its ascension to the stars
