Ross Welford – author of Time Travelling With a Hamster, What Not to Do If You Turn Invisible and The 1,000 Year-Old Boy – celebrates the amazing achievement of 100,000 copies sold in the UK in less than three years at the HarperCollins headquarters with his editor Nick Lake, executive publisher Ann-Janine Murtagh, publisher Rachel Denwood and his agent Silvia Molteni.
An astounding debut success, Time Travelling with a Hamster has been shortlisted for no fewer than 14 of the country’s biggest children’s book prizes, including the Costa, the Blue Peter, the Branford Boase, and the Waterstones Prize and it was longlisted for the Carnegie Medal. It was Waterstones Book of the month upon publication and won the Awesome Book Award in 2017.
‘The book’s heart and humour are hard to resist… [Time Travelling with a Hamster] will hook either a young putative storyteller or a young putative scientist with equal fascination.’ – The Guardian
