Applications for PFD’S Mentorship Programme 2024 are now closed.
The Peters Fraser + Dunlop Mentorship Programme is a 12-month writing mentorship for aspiring authors, launched in 2024. As part of the agency’s commitment to finding fresh perspectives and discovering talented new writers of the future, this is a free scheme open to applicants of all backgrounds. The number of mentees selected will vary depending on the year’s applicants. The agency guarantees a minimum of three places each year.

Catherine Lane – BECAUSE OF HER (thriller)

About the author:
Cat is an English-Italian writer who has spent most of her adult life moving between continents. America is currently home, where, as a freelance photographer, Cat tells stories with her camera. In both England and Japan, Cat wrote for recreational magazines that were published for military members and their families stationed overseas. BECAUSE OF HER was shortlisted for the 2024 I Am In Print Crime/Thriller Novel Award. Cat Lane is working with Sarah Hornsley.
Beth Davie – WIN BABY WIN (book club)
Not everyone can have a baby, but anyone can have the chance to win one – all they need to do is enter the competition. Win Baby Win asks the question; who deserves to become a parent? It explores themes of grief, mental health and the darker side of reality TV.
About the author:
Beth Davie lives in Cambridgeshire with her husband, one-year-old daughter and boxer dog. Her 15-year career in magazine publishing has seen her live in London, Dubai and Los Angeles, but when craving creature comforts she always heads home to Devon for the sea, scones and hills (it’s very flat in East Anglia). Beth Davie is working with Sarah Hornsley.
Caroline Gardiner – THE SEVENTH WOMAN (historical)
A dark murder mystery set in Victorian Scotland, inspired by the true story of The Edinburgh Seven – the women who fought to become the first female doctors in Britain.
About the author:
Caroline Gardiner has written for BBC Radio Drama, and created games scripts for the Natural History Museum and the Zombies Run app. She was selected for Penguin Write Now, and the Spread the Word London Writers’ Awards. She is a documentary film director, with credits for Channel 4, Tate Modern and Lonely Planet. Caroline is working with Laurie Robertson.
