George Bellairs: Murder Most Manx

Oct 10, 2018

Mild-mannered bank manager by day, bestselling crime writer by night – George Bellairs (the nom de plume of Harold Blundell – 1902-1982) was born in Lancashire but married a Manx woman and retired to the Island, where he continued his prolific writing career, which spanned four decades. The majority of his novels feature Inspector Littlejohn, and many of these were set in the Isle of Man. Until recently out of print, his books are being republished and a new generation of readers will be able to enjoy the Littlejohn mysteries.

Manx LitFest 2016 welcomes Bellairs expert Andy Wint to talk about the life and works of George Bellairs at Onchan Library.

It’s free entry – but as space is limited, it will be ticket only. To reserve a seat, please email onchan.library@onchan.org.im
