Verity Babbs is an art historian, presenter, and comedian from Northamptonshire. She studied History of Art at the University of Oxford, and founded and hosts ‘Art Laughs’ live art-themed comedy events, which have performed at the National Gallery, Royal Museums Greenwich, and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Verity has written for the Guardian, Artnet News, and RA Magazine, and has worked as a presenter on projects for Tate, London Art Fair, and the British Museum. She has featured on BBC News, ‘The Naked Week’ on BBC Radio 4, and had her social media videos shared by BBC 2. In 2024 she was named as one of BBC HistoryExtra’s ’30 Under 30′. Her debut non-fiction book ‘The History of Art in One Sentence’ was published by Bloomsbury in October 2025.
