Tom Boyd


Tom Boyd is a London-born radio and TV host, journalist and writer. When he was a student he worked as a dolphin trainer and as a stand-up comedian. After qualifying as a lecturer in the Theory of Education he earned an NUJ card and joined start-up news station LBC in Fleet Street, where he became editor of the award-winning breakfast show AM.

He joined ITV to present the children’s show ‘Magpie’, and then returned to radio as a phone-in host – winning the Royal Variety Club award as National Radio Personality of the Year.

He combined young people’s TV and controversialist radio for over three decades.

Boyd has penned five books, produced whale documentaries and staged the UK’s biggest ever wrestling show.

He is married and has two sons and a daughter.

His greatest passions outside family, friends, media and politics are sport and wine.
