Shilo Kino is an indigenous author from Aotearoa (New Zealand). She is a descendant of the tribes Ngāpuhi and Ngāti Maniapoto. Her debut novel The Pōrangi Boy won the Young Adult book of the year at the Children and Young Adult Book Awards in New Zealand. As a journalist, Shilo has written for many different publications, her work often exploring strong themes of social justice, identity and belonging. Her second novel, All That We Know, will be published by Mao Press. Shilo currently lives in Auckland, New Zealand.
