Nicole grew up in Essex and studied Law at Bristol University. She has always loved to write but her efforts were waylaid by work (as a lawyer in London, Paris and Dubai) and travel. Notable travel highlights include a disastrous solo trip around Central America and sharing an ‘eco’ hut in Ghana with enormous spiders who revealed themselves at dusk (shortly before the whole site was plunged into darkness). Her travel memoir – ‘Travel Sick’ – remains a work in progress.
During Nicole’s second maternity leave she began writing poems and rhymes on motherhood and family life, which she posted to her blog ‘The Brightness Of These Days’. She finally completed her first fiction novel during her third maternity leave (by then it was easier than leaving the house).
Nicole lives in Kent with her husband and three sons. You can find her on Instagram (@nicole_k_kennedy) and Twitter (@nicolekkennedy).
