Author

Matt Collins is a garden and landscape writer and Head Gardener at the Garden Museum in London. Trained at the Botanic Garden of Wales, Matt has contributed articles on horticulture, nature and travel to publications including The Guardian, The Telegraph, Spectator and Gardens Illustrated, and literary journals such as Slightly Foxed and Hortus. His monthly column for the Daily Telegraph brings to life the raw native landscapes of familiar garden plants, as he visits diverse environments from rainforests to alpine meadows, while his wider interests lie at the intersection between cultivated and natural environments.

Matt has previously published two Garden/Natural History books; his most recent, Forest: Walking Among Trees (2019), connects UK trees with their wilder wooded counterparts overseas, and was shortlisted in 2020 for an Edward Stanford Travel Writing Award. Matt is a long-standing member of the Garden Media Guild.
