Born and raised in London by Librarian parents, Judith studied Fashion at Saint Martins College of Art before working as a Fashion Editor and then Features Writer. After leaving journalism for the world of school libraries, Judith completed an MA in Children’s Literature at Birkbeck University and wrote her first book. Even though it seems like aeons ago, Judith has never forgotten the words of Mr Marks, her Year 6 teacher: ‘when your first book is published, will you dedicate it to me?’ His belief in her spurred her on. Judith lives in London with her husband and her cat, Stockwell. In her spare time she likes to read, tap dance and day dream. Her first novel, The Secret Starling, was published by Faber in 2019, and her most recent novel, The Stolen Songbird, was published in August 2023. Her third novel, The Accidental Stowaway, was selected as Waterstones Children’s Book of the Month in September 2022.
