Born in 1991, James Rothwell grew up in Dorset and joined the Daily Telegraph as a foreign news reporter in 2016. After the UK voted to leave the EU, he was appointed Brexit correspondent before moving to the Middle East in 2020.

He was on the ground in Kyiv on February 24th, 2022, reporting on the outbreak of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

He is currently based in Jerusalem, where he covers the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and in his spare time writes fiction.
