Caroline Goode served in the Metropolitan Police in London, England for 33 years. She retired as a Detective Superintendent in the Counter Terrorism Command, prior to which she spent ten years leading in excess of 100 complex murder investigations.
She wrote Honour: Achieving Justice for Banaz Mahmod (Oneworld, 2020), the true story of her investigation into a so-called ‘honour’ killing. What began as a simple missing persons report changed quickly into a murder investigation with the woman’s family at the center. The case heralded many legal firsts in the UK for which Caroline had to fight for, such as achieving the first ever extradition from Iraq to convict Mahmod’s murderers.
She went on to train thousands of Police Officers nationally and internationally in Honour Based Violence Awareness and was awarded the Queens Policing Medal for her work in 2012.
