Barbara Speed is a journalist and writer, currently working as Deputy Opinion editor at the Guardian. She was previously Opinion editor at the i newspaper and a technology and digital culture writer for the New Statesman. Her writing focuses on unexpected perspectives on health, culture, psychology and society, and on the voices of fringe groups and those outside the mainstream. Barbara contributes freelance longform features to publications including Prospect and the New Statesman, and has undertaken several extended reporting projects on anti-vaxxer movements.
