We are so proud that PFD CEO Caroline Michel has been recognised in King Charles’ New Years Honours list. Awarded the title of Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire (DBE), this recognition comes as a well-deserved tribute to Caroline’s unwavering services to publishing, literature and the arts.

CEO of PFD since 2007, and chair and trustee of the renowned Hay Literary Festival, Caroline’s influence has been felt across the literary world. In more than three decades in publishing, Caroline has worked with some of the greatest names in literature, some of whom she represents [visit Caroline’s client list here]. She has served on boards as varied as the BFI, Somerset House, Veuve Clicquot Businesswoman of the Year and the Harpers’ Bazaar Short Story Competition, and remains Chair of the BFI Trust, a Fellow of the RSA and Vice President of the London Library. She has served as a member of the Arts and Media Honours Committee, the Booker Prize Advisory Committee and the Chairman’s Circle, Southbank Centre, and has been a particular champion of libraries and librarians, serving as a panel expert for Library Services at DCMS.

Throughout all of her literary and charitable triumphs, we’ve been so lucky as to have Caroline as our inspirational and much beloved CEO here at PFD, and we could not think of anyone more deserving of this honour than our Dame.
