British Book Awards Shortlist 2017

May 13, 2017

We are thrilled that Camilla Shestopal has been shortlisted for Literary Agent of the year at the British Book Awards 2017! Camilla is one of the stars of an under-appreciated area of agenting: estates and backlists, and has found numerous ways to keep authors’ content alive.

“A backlist queen – a passionate and careful gatekeeper.”

Shortlisted for Debut Fiction Book of the Year is Five Rivers Met on a Wooded Plain by Barney Norris. Playwright Norris’ talent for telling a story on stage translates to the page with ease. Here he turns his hand to fiction with a story of five very different people – a flower seller, a schoolboy, an army wife, a security guard and a widower – in Salisbury connected by a car crash.

Shortlisted for Non-Fiction: Narrative Book of the Year is Mad Girl by Bryony Gordon. Telegraph columnist Bryony Gordon’s second title is a brave and revealing book that sees her write honestly, openly and with humour about living with OCD. Tired of staying silent about her illness Gordon explores her relationship with the condition, as well as her depression.

The winners will be announced on 8th May 2017. #Nibbies
