HarperCollins has signed a multi-book deal with author Alex Brown which will see her published across its HarperFiction and One More Chapter imprints.
Brown will continue to publish her successful Postcard From… series on the HarperFiction list while One More Chapter will launch a spin-off from the author’s popular Carrington’s series featuring Bella’s Bicycle Bakery.
Charlotte Ledger and Kate Bradley acquired world English language rights from Tim Bates at Peters Fraser + Dunlop. A Postcard From Paris will be Brown’s ninth novel for HarperFiction.
HarperFiction editorial director Bradley said: “This deal will see Alex and me enter our second decade of working together. The market is always evolving and Alex’s huge talent as a writer is also coupled with a great versatility. It’s so exciting that we are in the position to extend Alex’s brand across the estate and draw in ever more readers to her gorgeous, escapist novels.”
One More Chapter publishing director Ledger added: “I was a huge fan of Alex’s books before I started working at HarperCollins and she led the way with her Carrington’s series in this area of the market. It is such an honour to publish the spin-off on One More Chapter and work with incredibly talented women such as Alex and my fellow editor Kate.”
Brown said: “I’m over the moon to continue writing books for HarperCollins. I’ve been wanting to write more of the funny, romantic Carrington’s collection that my incredibly loyal and wonderful readers have been asking for and it’s exciting to be working with One More Chapter to do this, in addition to publishing two more of my escapist, dual timeline Postcard From… books for HarperFiction, I’m very happy to see my books reach an even wider audience.”
